Sexy Birthday Bash

Happy Wednesday!

It's finally starting to get nice outside again.
I can't wait until the snow melts on the mountains here.
I can finally start hiking! I tried to hike in the snow last year,
and I ended up falling into a magical snow hole.
Those are real. You can be trapped in one of
those for days, depending on how
deep it is.

Here are some photos I took last Spring at Mount Charleston
in Las Vegas. No slot machines in sight, hooraay!

Penny also helped me celebrate my birthday yesterday.
I can't believe 25 years ago, my mom vajayjayed me.

Penny had fun at the birthday party. She is doing better to
some degree, but mentally she seems to be declining. This could
be due to the anti-seizure medication. We are lowering the
dosage later this week to see if this might be the case.
The neurologist does not seem to think her
triglycerides caused the seizures, so we
still have no leads on this.
Her seizures have stopped, but the fact that she
is having so many other issues right now is
worrisome.

She seems to have lost some of her hearing, and she is
disoriented. She doesn't seem to recognize where some things
are, and is very confused with the layout of the rooms in
our condo. I keep finding her trapped in back of
doors, and in the corners of the rooms.
She also seems to be having some
discomfort trying to lie
down.

We're working with our vet, and are hoping she will ease out
of these issues in time. We'll probably know if this is going to
be a steady decline over the next few weeks, or if she will
pull out of it, and return back to her sexy self.
It's hard to know with these things, and you
just have to give it time.

Penny told me to tell everyone not to worry, and have some
whipped cream for her. We will let you know how she is doing.
Thank you for all of the nice birthday wishes!
We hope everyone is having a great week!

Happy birthday! The scenery looks gorgeous, much better than the casino slots for sure! I wish I had the time to visit the outdoors when I visited LV last year. We had planned to do so but we both got an ugly flu (and found out later that it was the H1N1) (and I also found out that I was pregnant)
I am sorry to hear that Penny is not doing well. I know how worrisome and frustrating it is not to know what she has and to just wait. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to see the sexy puggy back to her old self!

That cake sure did look good! I hope you had some non-chocolate cake on hand for that sexy pug of yours to enjoy!

Happy Birthday - we agree with Melissa. You's very wise for someone with only 25 years under your belt!

We's worried about Penny too and we want everything to get better. Stay strong and kiss that sexy pug for us!

Dana, I hope you had a fabulous birthday!

I am worrying about miss Penny. Keep us informed of her progress, ok? I am hoping that a lot of these symptoms are just being caused by the meds. I know seizure medication is notorious for having some yucky side effects.

Thinking of y'all!!!

Your cake looks really yummy!Nevada is something else besides concrete. Beautiful country, no wonder you like to go hiking. I hope your vet gets some answers quickly for you and Penny. My Fuji is 11 and sometimes she seenms a little confused when we are outside. I contribute that to her age. Penny is still young to be having these problems. Praying for Penny's speedy recovery!

Hi Dana & Penny! It looks like you had a great time celebrating. That cake looks delicious but of course no chocolate for puggies.

I'm keeping my paws crossed that Penny starts getting better. Lots of good vibes are coming your way to make you better and get you back to sexy!
